My First Birthday!!

My first birthday was a blast. My Grandma Wylene and Pap Mike came over on my actual birthday and brought me a mini cupcake, which I was not scared of at all and gulped down in about 5 bites. Then this past Sunday, I had a big party. Mom and Dad were worried about how I would be in house full of people, but they need not worry! I had a blast! There were other kids there and it was enough just trying to keep up with them. I received many new toys and clothes and got a great attempt at a real cake. Yum, yum! I think i inherited the Kloke-Cooley sweet tooth... I am doomed!

For my year check-up with the doctor, I surprised everyone at my whopping 23 lb. 3 oz. status and nearly 30 inch length. But most surprising to my parents were the 2 lower molars I am cutting. They couldn't figure out why I was waking in the night fussy - guess now they know! It kinda hurts!

Grandma and Grandpa Kloke came down for the party and brought me the best gift... a table and chair set just for me! So now I can sit at it and read the paper like Mom and Dad do in the morning.

Here is a picture of my cousins and me at the party. We were all dressed in our best and smiling big... sort of. I am really trying to walk to keep up with them. It won't be long - especially now that my parents bought me this awesome walker. It only took me 4 days to really get the hang of it!

Spring break trips...

We had quite a fun-filled spring break. First, it was just great to get to spend so much time with mom and dad. They took me to the beach for the first time. I wasn't sure about the sand and still wasn't feeling up to par. But it was still a fun overnighter. I ate my first grilled cheese sandwich at a restaurant and mom shared some of her sherbert ice cream with me. YUM - YUM!!

Then one day we went to Seattle to see Great-Grandma Arline, Grandma Carolyn, and Aunt Kristi all in one day. Oh yeah - and I got my first experience at Babies R Us and IKEA. I did very well. Put on a show for the grandmas with talking and giggling and crawling all over. I was so tired by the time we left I slept all the way home.

Then Easter Sunday came and I went to church in my new dress. But in the rush of everything, mom and dad forgot to get pictures. So you will have to wait to see my dress until I wear it for my birthday party - which isn't too far away!

Spring Break!

It is break time for mom and dad from work... and it was much needed right now. Mom has been battling a bad cold and I have had my share of bad times too. First I started cutting 4 teeth at once! Then I ran a 103 temperature for two days which brought on a rash all over my body. Now I have caught mom's cold. So we all need some R & R.

When I am feeling well, I love to smile for the camera. Can't wait for those year pictures! I also like to give kisses. I hear the word "kisses" and I lean in and give a big one. I am slowly learning to close my mouth when I do it. I also love food... as most of you already knew. When mom and dad have a snack during the day, I always climb up and get a bite or two. It sure makes me happy... see!

Since I have been sick, I have developed a great love for the blanket Grandma Carolyn knit for me. When I whine and cry, I love to hold it to my face. It soothes me right away. I have spent a lot of time sitting with mom in the rocker with my blankie. Dad thinks it is so cute.
